The Journey of Launching My Medium Publication: Insights and Earnings

The Decision to Launch a Publication
Just over a week ago, I made the pivotal choice to initiate my own publication on Medium. This wasn't a snap decision; I had been contemplating it for quite some time. After considering various aspects, such as the vision for the publication and its title, everything started to click into place.
I aimed for clarity in my publication. My goal was to provide ample information to ensure that writers visiting the publication’s page could navigate it easily. To achieve this, I needed to draft five articles covering essential topics such as submission guidelines, joining as a writer, effective engagement strategies, and a narrative focused on protecting writers.
Writing all five articles in a single day was out of the question. Typically, I don’t even manage to write and publish two articles daily, as that would likely lead to burnout. Consequently, I committed to completing either a section or an entire article each day, alongside the daily stories I publish. This was no small feat. There were nights when the only sound echoing through my home was the relentless tapping of my fingers on the keyboard.
After several days of hard work, my articles were finally ready.

Launching Express Impact
I officially launched my new publication, Express Impact, yesterday. To ensure everything on the publication page functioned correctly, I needed to publish all five drafts. In total, I published six pieces—one of which was an announcement about the publication’s launch itself, posted in the Write a Catalyst publication. (Yes, I still maintain my routine of writing an article each day.)
What happens when you release six articles in a single day? Let’s find out:

To my surprise, I received 110 views and 63 reads. This marked the first instance where my views surpassed 100 and my reads exceeded 35. The earnings from those reads were quite satisfactory, totaling around $14 after publishing my articles around 2 PM GMT.
If you're curious why I haven't shared my overall reads, views, and earnings stats yet, it's because I plan to reveal those details at the end of this month in an article I promised my audience. Many are eagerly awaiting that piece—can I really afford to drop spoilers?
Now, I leave it up to you to determine whether the results from self-publishing five articles and an additional one in a rapidly expanding publication all in one day are noteworthy. Do you think it’s worthwhile to publish so much in one day? Share your thoughts in the comments!
